ANTI JIGGER CAMPAIGN – SIKALAME PRIMARY SCHOOL
Agape anti-jigger campaign is a program aimed at eradicating jiggers, parasitic fleas that burrow into the skin and cause severe sores and infections, especially in children. We have been moving around Bungoma county for the past 5 years, carefully identifying communities affected by jiggers and carried out our campaigns which included: treatment, sanitation, and community education.
On 28th May 2025 we visited Sikalame Primary school following a report on some serious jigger and ringworm cases among the students and community. We treated 15 children affected with jigger plus one man from the community who was adversely affected by jiggers. We managed to treat 30 children with ringworms and distribute 20 pairs of shoes.

there is more to be done so as to fully eradicate jiggers. Our team is continually researching and coming up with better methods of putting jiggers at bay from schools around western region and the poor and vulnerable people in the community. We hope to see greater and effectual change as we keep visiting our communities.
